Setting up an information portal with WordPress

[ad_1]

Hi everyone, I am quite new to this and wonder if people can point me to the best themes/plugins and any relevant advice.

I want to set up a portal/newsletter containing information on European regulatory updates for an industry. This would have sections grouped by country with links to announcements (maybe a couple lines of preview text), perhaps a country-agnostic featured section for top developments. I guess this would involve an RSS aggregator and/or scraping plug-in?

The source information would come from pages such as the one below, but I would want to pick and choose which items are featured on the portal (since many would not be of interest).

Any advice much appreciated (or is there a better solution than WordPress for something like this?)

  1. Standard WordPress Posts, use categories for the countries. No plugins needed. How you get your content is up to you, though be careful scraping/publishing content that you didn’t create.
