WP noob here—creating a website to host some personal videos that can’t be hosted on YT/Vimeo/etc. I just want to create some widgets on home page and a searchable video catalog page that preview a video on hover and link to a distinct page containing the full video and some comments.
I’m looking for good customizability for the widgets (glow effect/raise widget on hover, etc.), but I’d really value expand ability too. I want adding videos to be as seamless as possible.
Currently hosting videos with Bunny Stream on my free Astra plan. Each video is its own blog post with no other content aside from title subtitle and description. And I can’t search easily. The featured image isn’t sufficient for me, plug-ins to allow featured vids aren’t either. I opened up Presto Player, but frankly doesn’t seem to be worth it relative to my needs.
If my needs are that niche, I’ll learn it myself, but any pointers for plugins/implementation
ideas would be great. I’m far from a web developer but I’m pretty handy with a few programming languages, so learning might not be too hard.
