Hi,
So in the past few days I had a problem with 2 separate plugins and both of the support representative asked for my WP Admin login details to check what the problem might be.
I’m not really a technical guy but I’m not really comfortable to give out such data.
Do you guys give out such sensible data? I did once for a developer when my site was smaller but now I’m not really comfortable doing this.
Also how would you tackle this problem if you don’t want to let in a stranger to your site but want to fix the problem with the plugin?
Thanks

This is really the only way for them to fix this. Alot of hosting providers create a user for this purpose.
If you’d like, create an admin account for the support and then delete it after.
You could also install an activity logger plugin to keep track of what they do while there.
There is a way to solve this without completely giving access to the developer. You have to go to the Cpanel of your webhosting and then create a FTP access just only for your plugin folder . The you can give the ftp access to someone who can fix the problem. In this way the person won’t have direct access to your Web hosting , he will get access for the plugin only .
