Sharp drop in traffic after blocking IPs as a measure to counter a DDoS attack

[ad_1]

So last day my website saw a sharp increase in traffic that caused it to go down and I contacted my host. I use a Managed WordPress hosting as I know nothing about anything. The people there blocked some IPs but it didn’t work. I reached them out again and they blocked more. Still the issue remained. Then, a ticket was raised and some more IPs were blocked and the site finally started working fine. But since then I am seeing a sharp fall in traffic (more than 50%) compared to last week. It is more than 30 hours now since the blocking of IPs and the situation has remained the same. Anyone ever faced similar situation?
