Hey, I’ve been using the free version of Bricks Builder online for a few days. I like it, but I can’t decide if I should buy the full version. Can I create a visually nice site with just an editor like Gutenberg with no programming, or is it best to get Bricks?

That’s really a personal preference and largely dependent on your knowledge and needs. I use page builders for all my wordpress sites but I also have deep knowledge in html, css, js and php and wouldn’t actually need a page builder. I just like the instant visual feedback a page builder gives you. If you’re just building a small website or blog the wordpress blocks and a decent theme is more than enough. If you want to build something more advanced and unique but have limited knowledge perhaps a page builder is suited for you.
If you like bricks and think it offers most of your needs, I’d say go for it. 🙂
The vanilla WordPress editor on its own can only create simple sites, considering you intend to adopt a straight visual building route.
It’s constantly improving, for sure, but it is simply not there yet as a comprehensive solution for bespoke website creation without either adopting a third-party block library or demanding the development of custom blocks/custom programming. Responsive design, for example, is not solved yet.
Bricks, on the other hand, is really flexible without resorting to heavy programming. It’s a powerful toolbox on its own.
But, if you are open to considering third-party add-ons, I would say that the line is blurred. It will depend on your personal preferences and needs.
Gutenberg is pretty flexible. It takes some learning your part and there are a ton of great freemium block plugins which provide you with some sample or starter patterns and blocks. Kadence, GoBlocks, GenerateBlocks are a few.
Buy Bricks and thank yourself later.
