My theme comes with a shop page but every time that I use the shop slug, WC will automatically delete the contents and replace it with its template. In WooCommerce, Product, Shop page, I left the selection blank so that I could use my page because every time I selected that option, it would still delete my content and layout.
I read a post that suggested to change the name of WC commerce to /shop-alt and my custom page would /shop. Then, create a redirect for all those instance where the wc shop would show up. Is this the best way to use a custom shop page? I’m asking because this is the foundation of an ecommerce. I would hate to build the whole shop just to realize that it’s not going to work because of this redirect.
