Should I use a Multi-Site?

[ad_1]

I’m work freelance and I’ve started to send clients files using a subdomain on my primary domain ([files.mydomain.com](https://files.mydomain.com)). The plugins I have on the “files” site are different than the ones I’m using on the primary. From what I understand about multi-sites, all the sites share the same plugins, that’s why I’m thinking it might not be useful here, like it would clutter things.

Would there be any other benefits to using a multisite in this situation?

  1. Rule #1 with WordPress multisite: If you don’t know the exact reason why you really want to use it, you shouldn’t.

There are a few, specific scenarios where WordPress Multisite can be useful – for example, when a company wants to have similar websites for individual business units. But even then, you have to think carefully about whether you really gain a benefit that justifies the more complex administration.
With your two websites: Better set up separate websites.

  2. If you have a lot of sites using same set of plugins/ theme … yes.

    Everything else no.
