Hi, all!
I apologize in advance if this is an utterly noob-y question, I am not experienced in WP.
Backstory: I’m helping a friend of mine with her charity/non-profit organisation, and one of the things we need to do is the revamp the website. As a small charity we can’t afford to hire anyone to do this at this time, but we are also just simple people lol. We have a pretty clear idea of what we want and need from the template, and one of my jobs is to scour the web for some alternative themes and templates. It’s been more difficult than I thought, mainly because of lack of filtering options when searching. We DON’T want a page with all this dynamic image and text stuff going on, it’s confusing to look at and takes time to load.
99% of the templates I’ve gone through have the flying pics and fonts, or the never-ending scrolling (we want a page that has a bottom). The ones that don’t have those things are usually sterile an d too complicated business themes or retail themes.
Can the moving images and texts be modified in the Dashboard to be static? We need a lot of the “charity” specific things like petitions and a donate button, among some things. So far the only template I like is this: [https://themeforest.net/item/charitio-multipurpose-charity-wordpress-theme/35143979])
Anything in the same ballpark would be great, if any of you amazing WP-redditors have any tips.
Thank you!!
TLDR; Where to find templates without flying pics and text and without never ending scroll

All this dynamic stuff is part of the web 3.0 trend. Luckily most themes have the ability to disable animation on a per-element basis.
Most themes you pick from a marketplace come with some sort of page builder such as WP Bakery, Elementor, or any other. If speed/page load is what you are looking for, I would stay away from most older page builders and specifically Elementor. They can slow down the site.
Also, when buying a marketplace theme, make sure it is an active maintain theme. Some developers put them up for sale and never push updates and as WP updates these themes cause issues. Such as the theme you referred to above, it has not been updated since [March 2022]).
My suggestion: look at simple themes that work with the default WordPress editor (Gutenberg). [Blocksy]) is my favorite, [Kadence]) and [OceanWP]) are alternatives.
Good luck!
