Simple way to let visitors sort archive pages by post popularity?

[ad_1]

Hi —

I have a blog with a large amount of micro-posts. The primary SEO focus is not on the posts, per se. It’s on the home page, category and tag pages.

I want to give visitors the ability to sort these pages based on a few options such as number of likes, number of comments, page views, or even date/alphabetical. Sort high to low or low to high.

All the information I can find pertains to back-end custom sorting which is NOT the goal. My goal is to allow visitors to have this functionally for their own viewing experience.

Is there an easy way to do this? I feel like it should be elementary but cannot find the solution I need. Thanks in advance for your insights.

  1. To sort by popularity you would need to log all post view counts, so you’re going to need a plugin, as that isn’t something WordPress does out of the box.

A quick google returned but it hasn’t received an update in over a year so use at your own risk.
