Single Blog Post Template Question

[ad_1]

Hey everyone. I’m currently building a site with a blog page. I’m happy with how the site looks and a lot of it is structured around the same style as the first image below. However I also want each blog post to also follow the same exact layout. Simply just a transparent nav-bar with an image behind it, a dark overlay and some text (in this case the blog title) layered on top.

An easy enough task for all my pages but when it came to adding the same thing to my blog posts it became near impossible. For some context I am using the standard free version of Elementor and Astra as my theme. Before coming here I checked on the Elementor forum where I was told I needed the pro version which really doesn’t make any sense if I can achieve what I want easily on my pages but can’t transfer the same thing over to my posts?

So far I have tried creating a page template and adding it which only resulted in the third image where the “Article Here” text is a pre added header and not connected to the blog. I’ve also tried the plugin “Post Custom Templates Lite” which I couldn’t really get to do what I wanted. So my question is, does anyone know how to achieve this but for blog pages without having to pay out for Elementor Pro? Thanks for any replies 🙂

  1. Start new template in elementor, selecting single post type, use the post content etc widgets to make the post look how you want then when you save it, it will ask what instances you want, add single post then save.
