Site down and not even searchable

Perhaps your hosting provider had some temporary downtime?

I have no idea, but after about 5 minutes, I was able to get in. I also noticed that the email I received from WordPress pertaining to the update was about 10 minutes before I even had tried to go to the site, which was a complete coincidence. So, I suspect you are correct, the host may have tied something up and maybe it just had to do with the updates and my absolutely terrible timing. So thank you for responding, all is good.
