Thanks for getting in touch. Rather thank using another plugin, which is not for this purpose, have you tried to reset the plugin before attempting Site Kit set up once more (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit)?
Before doing so, please ensure you don’t have any additional Site Kit related plugins activated, such as the plugin used for setting up Site Kit on a staging environment.
If the same error appears after resetting Site Kit please share your Site Health information and the full URL you land on when you encounter this error, from your browser address bar.

I noticed a Site Health information form response that references this support topic. Within this I noticed a plugin that alters your standard wp-admin path along with other plugins that could potentially impact your Site Kit set up. Based on this can you perform the steps below and share whether you’re able to complete set up?
- Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
- Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

Hi,
I followed your help, installed and activated Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
When I activated the Site Kit I got the message: “When enabling the plugin, google-site-kit, a site failure occurred. Because of this change was automatically reverted. Enable anyway”.
I activated it anyway, and I was able to connect with the goggle account.
