Sitemap Index doesn’t contain Google News, because News post URLs are already included in Posts Sitemap. Also, you are right about robots.txt. We will add this feature within several hours and release a new update.
Also, we are currently working on adding Image and Video Sitemaps to Index Sitemap. This feature also comes with next release 🙂
