Solution for compliance with latest Google consent requirements

[ad_1]

Hi,

I am helping a friend that runs a WordPress site. It uses Google Analytics for analytics and Google Adsense for ads.

I’ve been trying to help my friend ensure their site is fully compliant with the latest requirements from Google regarding user consent. The first requirement that we had to comply with was IAB TCF. We met this requirement by using Google’s own CMP, which is free.

However, we now need to ensure the site is also compliant with Google’s Consent Mode v2. I’ve been spending some time getting my head around this works, and I think I have the basic idea. However, we now need to find a solution that meets both this and the original IAB TCF requirement.

One question I can’t seem to find an answer to is whether you can use Google’s own CMP to comply with both. I have a feeling it’s not compliant with Consent Mode v2, but would appreciate if anyone can confirm this.

Assuming Google’s CMP is a no-go, that leads me on to finding a third-party CMP. I’ve been spending some time researching various products, but there’s so many out there that’s it’s pretty time consuming! Does anyone with more experience of this have any advice? Are there any free solutions out there that would fit the bill, or are we looking at a paid subscription? If so, do you have any recommendations?

The site has around 25k users/month and is a single domain. It has around 160 posts and 8 pages.

Any advice greatly appreciated!
