So I’ve just graduated and need to quickly build a portfolio site for myself and I’ve been looking at wordpress as an option until I can program my own when I don’t have to worry about job search or moving back home and stuff but I see how plugins have major vulnerability that lead to site takeovers or SQL injection
My main questions are
How secure is wordpress when it comes to if a plugin is vulnerable to an attack vector ?
What’s people’s overall thoughts on wordpress ?
If I weren’t to use wordpress what else would you suggest?
How easy is it to edit the code of your website?

If you are the only user with administrator capabilities, you have a unique username and a strong password, and you keep your site up to date, then there is very little chance of your wordpress site getting hacked. Using sketchy plugins and running an ecommerce business through the site may increase attacks.
Use WordPress, WordPress.com, or Squarespace.
