Some Unusal Rare tips to Optimize my WordPress Blog

[ad_1]

I recently took some rare unusual steps to optimize and improve the loading speed of my blog and here is the result is really surprising.

Here are the steps I took on my blog

1. Remove Social Media Sharing plugin:- Been a new blog, it was getting very less of visitors. Out of which only few of them use Social Media Sharing button. Whereas on other side, I reduce the loading speed of my blog drastically. So, I removed it.
2. Remove Google Analytical Code:- I think there is no need of installing Google Analytical code if you are getting less number of visitors to your blog intially. So, I removed it.
3. Build Site using Gutenberg:- Page Builder plugin is one of the main cluprit behind increasing the loading time. Furthermore, your site will get stop working when you uninstall the same in future. Hence, I build my site using Gutenber blocks. You can check my blog built using Gutenberg at [here]).
4. Miscellneous Changes:- Further, I made below small changes to optimize and improve the loading speed.
a. Remove logo and featured image from lazy loading
b. Defer Javascript files
c. Remove unwanted plugins
d. Replace images with text (wherever possible)
e. Optimize and reduce images size
f. Disable Emoji, Embed script
h. Minify render blocking resources
i. Remove Fonts Locally
j. Remove inline Styling etc

And, here is the result. Today, I am scoring 99+ on all my blogposts including homepage. Furthermore, the keyword ranking of my blog also got improved.

  1. You can just load Google Analytics in the footer or asynchronously. It will still work fine for most purposes.

Pagespeed scores are just vanity metrics for a new blog. I’d rather have 100% functionality and score in the 80s. But the truth is you can have both.
