  1. If I have comments enabled on my websites, most of the time Google reCAPTCHA isn’t really helpful in preventing comment spam. I’d suggest installing an anti comment spam plugin as well. It’s been a while since I’ve used one, so I’m not entirely sure what’s the best one you can try.

  2. I use Wp Armour plugin. The free version is enough to stop all the spam in the website. Give it a try.

  3. I ended up with CleanTalk. It wasn’t too much and it put a stop to ALL the spam I had.
