Our website got hit by a load of bots making fake accounts and writing posts and comments that don’t even display on pages as they’re not even enabled.
We’ve since enabled captcha and made sure the site is patched. Our web host has a malware scanner that still complains there’s a spam link but no malware. The only way I could find the page was to use a term in the site scan report and do a search site type google search.
Lo and behold the page shows like a bastardised version of one of our product pages but it looks like an advert for a betting company in the Asia.
There is no directly corresponding product, post or comment but how is this ad taking over one of our pages in such a sneaky way?
