The plugin translation is maintained by contributors. The spanish translation is only partially supported as of now. You can find the list of all languages, their support and status here.

Since the translation is maintained by contributors from the community, the plugin’s mo/po files are automatically downloaded and stored by WordPress in your wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder.

Side note: you can also directly export the po/mo files from the WP translation interface, when selecting your language and the branch. Down the page you’ll find an Export tool.
