I’ve been having many problems on my wordpress site… thumbnails not loading for all media & themes, when I click on a plug in the plugin screen is blank or doesn’t load, themes are broken. And my site says ‘Dangerous’ where it should have that lock symbol.
Doing some research I believe this to be an SSL/HTTPS issue? My site is essentially blank right now because I’m wiping it and starting new. But still nothing seems to work correctly.
Can someone help a noob out? What should I be doing? All I want is to start new without problems.

Not a WordPress problem per se. It’s a website setup issue and you’re right, it’s HTTPS related. First, test that you are able to type in the full HTTPS:// address to one of your pages and it is served up and the SSL certificate is valid. (Your hosting company provided you with an SSL certificate, (most likely) and so, this should part should be working.
Http:// and https:// are different places. One should not be able to get to the http:// version of your website. This is accomplished by redirection. It sounds like the http:// version of some pages is available. Check under domains in cpanel, for https: redirection. Anytime anyone wants the http:// version, they should be redirected to the https:// version automatically. If your SSL is not working for any of your pages, contact your hosting company, either they haven’t provided it (some may charge additional for https:) or there is a configuration issue and the hosting company probably deals with all the time. It might be in their FAQ section.
