Staging advice

[ad_1]

I need help. I am still a newbie and need to figure out how I setup a staging site and deploy it. The main problem is our client is using currently using Wix. So we are going to keep the site live as I build the new site. So all the videos and articles I have read show me how to make and deploy a staging if the website I am working is on WordPress. So I am not sure what the correct way to go about this. Thank you have help.

  1. Do you have your own domain name and hosting? If so, you can set up a sub domain, and install WordPress on there. Eg. [yourclient.yourdomain.com])

You can build the site on there, and the client can see changes and updates. Then when the site is ready to go live you can close the WordPress website, using a plugin such as Duplicator, to their domain.

If they are on Wix, you’ll also need to set them up web hosting when they are ready to put their new site live.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Wpengine has a 3 staging hosting option for each site. – Development, Staging and Production.
