Storage Limit for images

[ad_1]

Hi. I started on my WordPress journey due to wanting to finally build a portfolio of my photographs, not necessarily to start a business or even side-gig, but just to have set up in case I do decide so. I will also preface by saying that I realize that I am asking for a way at the present moment to get access to a nice product (being WordPress and the ability to have a website and portfolio) for free, which is not necessarily how the world works.

All that said, I realize that there is a 1GB storage Limit for images. This is basically nothing if one is planning to use WordPress for building a photo portfolio, I which case I may very well have 10GB before too long, so long as I am not reducing the size of each photo or being more selective in what I upload. Also, I have no issue paying for a product while I am actively using it to make a profit, but if I am just using it over the course of a couple of months to put it together and then many more months without actively sharing it and getting traffic, then I feel as though I am wasting money.

My question is, is there a good way around this for the time being? Maybe using Google photos instead of uploading from local storage? I like that everything is stored online so that I can access the site with photos and everything from any device, but maybe before I roll it out, is there a way to just have a site with photos and everything, where photos are stored locally, not uploaded to WordPress servers?
