Hi.
I have a domain which is associated to a wp site – both managed on server 1 (a dedicated VPS)
The domain is also on CF pro.
Now, I want to make a site at a subdomain, on server 2 which is likely to be cloudways autonomous – which comes with cloudflare.
So now I am confused.
If cloudways didn’t use CF, I would imagine I could set up an A record (or maybe a CNAME) on CF for the sub domain , pointing to the cloudways IP.
But I don’t know if this would work, and how it would play with cloudways implementation of cloudflare.
Anyone any advice ?

Contact your host for further assistance – this isn’t related to WordPress. If you want to continue to manage your own CF yourself, you’ll need to opt out of Cloudways Enterprise CF setup.
You don’t have to use cloudways’s cloudflare integration, it’s optional. Just make an A record and point it. But even if you do use their cloudflare, it’s still just a cname record, you don’t completely change nameservers like you normally do when you switch your DNS to cloudflare. I have tons (hundreds) of sites across dozens of cloudways servers, some with subdomains across 3 or more servers for the same site. Cloudflare/DNS has never been an issue.
