Test mode sends double confirmation emails

What I did is changed the theme to Storefront and disabled all plugins except WooCommerce and Stripe payment plugin. If I’m using the new Try the new checkout experience (early access) THEN emails get sent double. If this feature is turned off then emails are arriving just fine.

I went ahead with trying on a test installation of mine, using:

* WooCommerce Version: 7.0.0
* PHP Version: 8.0.24
* WooCommerce Stripe Gateway: by WooCommerce – 6.8.0

without being able to replicate the issue.

Could you check if you are able to reproduce the issue you are reporting here under the following conditions:

1. An unmodified WordPress installation, using a default theme such as Twenty Twenty or Storefront active.
2. No other plugins except for WooCommerce, and WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway, active.

If yes, please do let us know.

I did wrote in the initial message that I did replicate that issue on the exact conditions you’re asking to: Storefront theme + WooCommerce + WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway.

Please make sure that the “Try the new checkout experience (early access)” is turned ON. This makes the emails going out twice.
If this feature is OFF (or rather you use the default experience) then everything is working fine.

Thanks for the report.

May I ask for one additional piece of information?

Please head to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > stripe > settings > advanced settings > Log error messages.

Be sure the debug mode is enabled. Then you can place a test order, if the issue appears again, please provide the logs generated (please redact the information such as emails, names, addresses, etc).

Can you install WP Mail Log
this will help to check if WooCommerce is requesting the email to be sent multiple times.

I noticed that since enabling Stripe payment plugin my site is sending double confirmation emails. I also researched and saw that this is a common problem with this plugin but no any solutions.
Hopefully my site is still in development so I can test things out.

Hi,
I noticed that since enabling Stripe payment plugin my site is sending double confirmation emails. I also researched and saw that this is a common problem with this plugin but no any solutions.
Hopefully my site is still in development so I can test things out.
What I did is changed the theme to Storefront and disabled all plugins except WooCommerce and Stripe payment plugin. If I’m using the new Try the new checkout experience (early access)  THEN emails get sent double. If this feature is turned off then emails are arriving just fine.
