It’s good to create a staging site that excluding unnecessary themes, plugins, database table, and direcotries. WP Staging offers a feature to exclude themes, plugins, database tables, and directories.
We recommend creating staging with default settings. Then, reset the staging site using https://projectdmc.org/plugins/advanced-wp-reset/.
After resetting the staging site you may need to reconnect it by following https://wp-staging.com/docs/reconnect-staging-site-to-production-website/.
We are working a feature to create an empty staging site and it’s on priority. However, we don’t have any ETA for this.
