“Thanks for updating to Really Simple SSL 6.0!” Notice isn’t going away

[ad_1]

Hi @collizo4sky,

It’s looking for the page on your subsite, but we moved it to your main site for all subsites. We will change it for this set-up, thanks.

regards Aert

The 6.0.9 release will include a fix for this. Until then, you can use this branch:

Let me know if that helps!

@collizo4sky ah yes I see the problem. These notices are cached, so even though they’re not included on a subsite, if it was already included before, it’s still there. So a dynamic exclusion doesn’t work here.

I’ve fixed this now. As your site already has this notice in the notices cache, please visit the network admin settings page after updating, this clears the cache. I’ve just tested with a cached notice, it now disappears after visiting the network admin page, or after the notices cache expires.

Dowloaded the updated from

It still isn’t working.

I enabled “Dismiss all notices”, and I thought that should remove the notice.. Didn’t work too.

@collizo4sky Did you also visit the SSL settings page on the network menu? Because I just checked, and it worked. What I checked:

1) installed Really Simple SSL 5.3.5
2) upgraded to Really Simple SSL 6.0.8 from repo. I verified that the notice was now visible on subsites.
3) replaced the plugin with the one from this branch. On subsites the notice was still visible, because of the old cache.
4) Visited the network SSL settings page. Now visited a subsite again: the notice was now gone.

I’m assuming the plugin is network activated by the way, is that the case?

I have 6.0.8 installed, replacing the previous version.

I visited wp-admin/network/settings.php?page=really-simple-security#settings

Went back to the subsite (it’s a subdomain multisite network) and the error is still present.

Deleting the transient cache (rsssl_admin_notices) manually from the DB fixed the issue
