@wpcomuser In the preview window (in the Setup tab), can you see these changes being applied when you make changes to the filters?
Note that any Shortcode parameters will override the setup filters. So, if you’re setting min=1 max=5 here, it will override the main minimum rating of 4.
If you’re seeing the expect results in the admin preview, yet not on your website, there is very likely a caching issue.
When viewing your page, I see 3 of the 14 reviews – all 5 stars.
I will check preview.
I can confirm no shortcode. I am doing all config from the settings.
Yes, but if you keep refreshing, it sometimes bubbles up.
Okay, that helped. I think this gets us closer to figuring things out.
What I did was set it to retrieve all reviews, then sort LOW to high. So this should show the low review every time.
- When range is 1 to 5, the low review shows in preview.
2. When range is set to 3 to 5, the low review is removed from preview. However low review shows on actual website. (Cache cleared, and WordPress cache is disabled and deleted as well.)
@wpcomuser The preview in the admin should be a pretty decent guide about what to expect.
If the actual website is showing something different to this, I think it’s likely to be a cached version of the page (there can be multiple caches on some websites). I recommend just using a computer rather than a phone to check the expected reviews are showing – otherwise you may be battling with your phone’s cache as well.
I’m on desktop right now. Always showing low review on web. Have changed to high to low, then back, and it changed, and still shows low review when set to range=3 to 5.
Preview shows correctly.
By the way, I noticed the little eye on the reviews page. If I use it to hide this one review, the main page will update correctly and omit the review.
I think I have it. I checked widget settings and there is a “1” in those. It is likely overriding everything. Deleting widget and re-creating.
Yes, the widget rating range settings cannot be removed (no blank setting), so they override the general settings. Solved.
Might be idea to allow widget rating range to fallback to default settings. That plus # of reviews cannot be deleted from widget settings and so do not fall back to general settings.
Thank you for your extremely quick reply time!

@wpcomuser Thanks for the update here! The Widget settings will override the basic setup (just like the Shortcode), so ensure the min/max values are set a you wish.
I’ll look into that Widget functionality more generally as I know that there have been some issues with it storing incorrect information in the past.
Thanks again for the updates.
