My problem is that “PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce” writes all PDF invoices in Estonian, which is just one of the languages on my multilingual site.
- My site language is “English (United States).”
- My user language is “Site Default.”
- The language of the order for which I want to write a PDF invoice is English.
- The language of the customer is English. The customer also registered as a user with English as his language.
- English is also my multi-language site’s primary language in the Polylang plugin.
- All admins use “Site Default” as their language.
WP Overnight‘s instruction page about languages (https://docs.wpovernight.com/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/how-is-the-pdf-language-determined/) says:
“Documents in the front-end and the ones emailed to the customers will always be in the site language Settings > General > Site Language.”
As I said, my site language is English, but all PDF invoices are in Estonian. See attachment.
- I have changed the site language to another and then returned to English.
- I have changed the user language from the default and moved it back to the default.
- I have uninstalled and installed the “PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce” application.
Nothing above helped. All PDF invoices from different countries made in different languages are written in Estonian.
Then, I deactivated Polylang, and finally, your application started writing invoices in English, the site language. But, of course, I cannot keep Polylang deactivated on my 21-language page only to switch PDF invoice language from Estonian to English!
A bug causes this problem. It is not just a case of me being a stupid user.
I understand that normal free version user help requests belong to this forum, but I’d like to know why WP Overnight wants me to publish this bug rather than handle the case privately by email. Instead of asking for more information and fixing the bug, they just directed me to this forum to make it public and stopped answering. As a business owner, I find it wiser to correct a bug behind the doors between a service provider and a helpful customer who reports it directly instead of asking a customer to publish it to everyone, which creates a bad will for the service provider.
The bug is in the synchronization between WP Overnight’s app and Polylang, and you should fix it. You may need to co-operate with Polylang. I would happily give WP Overnight and Polylang access to my page to help fix the bug. Still, I would have been happier if WP Overnight had taken my concern more seriously when I approached the company directly by email. I can only give my site’s login and password privately on emails that WP Overnight stopped answering. So, what should we do next?
I liked the free version of “PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce” and was considering buying it, but why would I buy a license if it does not function and WP Overnight is not interested in error reports?
Even though I have spent a disproportionate amount of time trying to get WP Overnight’s attention, I am still interested in the program and will give it a chance if I get help. If I weren’t interested, I would not have written numerous emails to the company and not this forum post.
