>Really looking forward to WordPress 6.6 tomorrow! Especially interested in feature, the pattern overrides for more design flexibility & the enhancements to the block library
>Quick page previews and plugin update rollbacks both sound promising. Excited to try it out.
>Woah looks like wordpress is just getting started, loved this bento design
>tab to indent list items is probably my favourite. It’s just natural to hit tab when writing up lists in any editor.
>The new block binding stuff looks great. Styled sections is something I’m interested to see. Overall a great release ahead. Thanks to everyone who contributed to #WordPress 6.6
>Amazing, looking forward to the release.
>Rollbacks is a win

\]WordPress 6.6 is changing the game for Custom Fields [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNtHywyxWdc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNtHywyxWdc) WordPress is bringing Custom Fields to blocks. The Block Bindings API is going to change the way we code for postmeta, and WordPress 6.6 is our first glimpse.

It’s being released today.
Today is the 16th but they just dropped rc4 to fix one issue. They say it’s still coming today but…
Personally quite excited with the Block Binding API and DataViews component
Plugin rollbacks. Full stop.
What will change exactly?
Since I don’t use blocks or the block editor, I’ve found nothing useful in the last few updates.
Why did they change the excerpt field? Now we gotta press a button or whatever to add and edit it. How annoying and a complete waste of time.
Building a headless stack (plugin, theme and frontend app) and I’m waiting for this update!
Nothing to be excited about right now maybe Gutenberg is a lot more usable or easier to customize now than Elementor. I am really hoping that day would come.
Plugin rollback is nice but people are just too lazy to take a backup, that is how user is, but this is something I’d rather leave to a plugin than another bloat and moving part of a WordPress. Essentially they need to make it leaner and more focused and seperate those as a plugins, maybe start a setup wizard asking if you want X feature? I know this might turn off other people and complain WordPress is just so complex while Wix isn’t but that’s not the point of WordPress and open source systems, its about choices.
Plugin Rollbacks. Yes. Less gutenberg, more core improvements like this please. We need speed, stability and rich features in the backend.
