👋🏼 Hi Nathan,
Thanks for writing a post.
This “error” is produced when the plugin cannot find any attachments that haven’t already been indexed by this plugin. Technically, if you’ve pressed this button once before, there’s no need to press it again in future because future uploads are automatically handled by the plugin (as long as it’s active).
Instead of the error being produced, what we might do in future is that if the plugin shows this error, we might just make it automatically handle this error silently and then remove the ‘Index Media’ button. Not sure about that just yet!
Upon activating the plugin, it redirects you to the media screen with the ‘click me’ arrow in an attempt for you to click the button to index the library. We do this because others have previously never clicked this button before which results in other features (such as the order by file size) not working correctly. You should only see this screen once and if you click (not refresh) the media library again, the arrow should vanish.
Are you having any issues with the plugin not indexing your media or the ordering column not working? Please do let me know.
Thank you,
Sully
Hi Sully! Thanks for the quick reply. I thought that might be the case with the “error” but because the arrow continued to appear I was unsure.
You’re correct that clicking out of the library and coming back does remove the arrow, but refreshing does not (I was refreshing before).
I’m adding your plugin to our monthly Plugin Roundup livestream tomorrow on iThemes Training. I think many in our audience will like the work you’ve done here!
Thanks again!
Thank you Nathan! There is definitely room for improvement with our plugin to refine it for a better user experience. I will certainly note this down for development.
Also thank you for the inclusion into your live stream. I really hope people find it useful!
I’m going to mark this as resolved, but if you need anything, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Sully
