“There has been a critical error…” after updating plugins

[ad_1]

I have a handful of WordPress websites that I check in on once a month and update the plugins + some other small maintenance. For the last few months after running the plugin updates, I’ve been getting this error message on one site: “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. ” Despite this message, everything seems to be working fine on both the front-end and WP control panel.

This month, I’ve started getting the same error on a couple of other sites (hosted at a different company than the first site). Again, they all seem to work fine. It seems like something I should be concerned about — “critical error” sounds serious — but I’m starting to think it’s a false alarm.

Any insights?
