‘There has been a critical error on this website’

[ad_1]

I had some malware on my server, and there was a large number of instances on files in the wp-includes folder. So I deleted the whole folder and uploaded a clean version. Now, I’m getting ‘There has been a critical error on this website’.

I’ve dealt with this before, but it’s usually me forgetting a , ; } ] ) somewhere in a function.

At that point, I can’t access the dashboard to deactivate plugins, so I renamed the plugin folder. Still getting the error.

Should I reinstall the other non wp-content files as a start to troubleshooting this mess? (Actually thought of that while asking here for help) I suppose it’s possible I wasn’t completely up to date on my WP installation, so now I have mismatched files.

Any other ideas of troubleshooting?
