There has been a critical error on this website. the site is down, i am using wp engine as hosting. the wp engine support says they cant see error, but my site is down since i tried to update plugins.

I tried restoring a back up when site was working fine 2 days back. but that also dint work. Its quite confusing. To uninstall pluings i am not understanding how to do without login to wp admin.

Please guide me

  1. The critical error typically happens when an update of a theme or plugin goes wrong.

    You should check your mails (also spam) because your site sends automatic an email to the mailadress you inserted in the wordpress dashboard.

    In that mail you find a link to login when critical error.

  2. Try this: rename plugins folder in wp-content/plugins 1by1, and check if your site is back. Like if you use contact form 7, rename the contact-form-7 folder to contact-form-7-old. This way you can find which plugin crashed.
