Those who were hit by Bricks vulnerability, what caused your site to get hit?

Just trying to see if there was a common denominator. My Bricks sites weren’t hit but I know others were from the vulnerability. Trying to see if there was a hosting provider or something.

For me, I use WordPress.com as the hosting service. As soon as I got the vulnerability email, updated all Bricks sites.

What’s your story? Do any of you use Wordfence or other security plugins?
