A realtor I made a website for asked if there was a way to create "cookie cutter" copy and paste websites with changed informatio depending on the realtor for the other agents in their office. These realtors can't pay what I charge for a full website, so this would be an opportunity to charge them less, for a website I've basically already built, just with different text, images and domain name.
How would you accomplish this? Would you use a multisite? Any tips for me? I created the first website with wp engine if that helps.
Thanks for the help!

If they’re agents and she’s the broker you could just do subpages on her current website. If they don’t want to pay for their own sites. Or just duplicate the site from a backup and change the text real quick.
I did a similar thing for the parent company for HVAC. They had a ton of locations across the US with different domain names servicing just their own area.
We did not use multi-site, I have only ever used multi-site for websites that need multiple languages. After the first site was built and published we just exported the DB and theme files. Stood up a new server for the new site, imported everything. From there we ran a search and replace for locations, hvac company name, phone numbers, etc. Updated the images with new branding and all. It was *mostly* an automated process.
This was also done in WPEngine. If you are the one going to be in control of everything, with a monthly retainer, keeping all the sites in your own org is fine. If there is no retainer or continued support, I would have them setup an account on WPE and give you collaborator access.
The hosting, domain names, on-going support/retainer, etc, **NEED TO BE IN YOUR CONTRACT**.
I’ve done multi sites enough – one thing numerous people misusing it for is to broadcast information from one site to another, this isn’t possible just out of box. Other than their plugins and themes are controlled from a single points those sites have separate database. For your case it will be much better option to go with multi site since you can make an update to a single theme and that’s it. Since they are all the same theme used so ir wil be easier for you update and distribute. Let me know if you have any questions.
Edit: also each client can handle their own contact submission without you worrying about filtering them for each user on the backend
You need [BePro Listings](https://www.beprosoftware.com/shop/bepro-listings) and probably the author’s add-on. That way, each realtor can manage their own listings. There is also a [real estate](https://www.beprosoftware.com/shop/bepro-listings-realestate) add-on but they would probably prefer the From Builder if low on resources. Good luck
A multi site network uses the same database for all the websites.
With that said. You can run into some serious bottle necks at the database level if the sites are very active.
Either way you are going to need a backup/clone tool such as duplicator pro.
You won’t have granular control using updraft plus even their premium version if you are using Multisite.
You will need a plugin such a the premium version of duplicator pro or wp cloner that ONLY DOES cloning of multi site networks and no backups.
