Tips on switching away from Divi?

[ad_1]

I’m taking over my husband’s website but haven’t coded in ages. It’s currently in Divi which I despise.

The goal is to switch away and work with a basic landing page (Jetpack theme I already built) before spending time to get a proper site going again.

The problem is that it only let me build Jetpack on my phone and it’s local only. Since I can’t publish it, I can’t test it before pulling the plug on Divi.

Has anyone done a switch away from Divi recently and have any advice or best practices (besides backing it up just in case)? From what I have read, I think I will build the final site with Gutenberg.

  1. Moving away from Divi requires that you rebuild the site from scratch.

Get some new WP hosting, and rebuild there using a temporary domain.
