Though…it may not be this plugin at all, I realize. The fake subscribers were all tagged as mailchimp for woocommerce in my mailchimp account that suggested to me that they were coming through the WooCommerce checkout form where the checkbox appeared.
HOWEVER, I had transactional emails set up, so any subscriber would get imported, I guess, not just customers. I turned that off, though, just keeping the checkbox on, and was still seeing some fake subscribers come through with my mailchimp for woocommerce tag.
Guess I just need to figure out where these fake subscribers are by passing my spam protection.
Hi @tricheryltops, dealing with fake and bogus emails can be frustrating. Unfortunately, we don’t have control over how spam accounts land in your Audience, but it sounds like you’re on the right track with looking closer at your spam protection as mentioned. It’s possible another plugin could help with the issue as well.
Please note, that we are not directly affiliated with any plugins that provide that functionality, so you will want to take the normal precautions like making a backup or installing on a staging environment before activation.
