Total beginner – new WP website “no longer available”

[ad_1]

Hello, I am a complete beginner and trying to get a simple WordPress website up and running, learning from articles and youtube tutorials. So I had a hard time understanding the difference between wordpress.com and .org and the local server thing. First I bought a domain on IONOS and took a “personal” subscription” on wordpress.com to find out it allowed me to access almost nothing so I cancelled it a few days later (14 days rule). Then I tried the local server thing but that is way above my capacities for now. Finally I found a way to use IONOS, change the direction of the domain name and have access to WP.org for free (from a youtube tutorial). Not sure how it works exactly or if it is the best but I am building the website with access to themes and plugins such as Elementor which is great for me. But with all these manipulations, I always used the same domain name. When I cancelled and deleted all my stuff on WP.com , it messed things up, I can’t see the new website I am creating with WP.org online. I can create everything but when I click on the top left icon “go to my website”it says it has been deleted. I don’t know if the problem comes from IONOS or wordpress is mad that I wouldn’t pay, but any help would be greatly appreciated as I don’t have website geek friends or the money to call a specialist! I know I’m probably asking for a lot and explaining badly. Thanks so much if you have any idea 🙂

So, just to clarify, WordPress.org is not a host. You can’t built a website “with” them. It is just the online home of the WordPress open-source software project. You use WordPress software to build your site with a webhost. WordPress.com is a managed-WordPress host.

It sounds like perhaps you either don’t actually have a WordPress install set up with a host. Or, alternately, your domain’s nameservers are still pointing to WordPress.com.

What are your domain’s nameservers? What host are you using? Is it IONOS?

    >is mad that I wouldn’t pay,

This is silly. The mistake is on your end somewhere.
