Transferring jpgs from one FTP server to another

[ad_1]

HELP! I have a problem with my site and I don’t know where to start.

I’ve got two accounts with Ionos. I’m allowed 262,144 files on each. I usually connect using FTP.

I’ve used up 259,000 files on my first account and 50,000 on my other account. I’m going to hit my file limit in about 3 months.

I have a main WordPress site (for a non-profit community organisation) which I’ve been maintaining for 14 years. It accounts for 228,161 of these files.

I’ve got a lot of media files – 167,000 jpg and 15,000 jpeg files.

I think I’m right in saying that I can transfer the 167,000 jpg files from my first account to my other account? Not sure exactly how I can start doing this. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

  1. That’s not how it works. The images need to be uploaded into pages/posts inside WordPress.

A simple fix for all this is to just get better hosting.

  2. I’d move the site to a better host. You could also use a CDN service for media uploads.
