I tried asking in a gaming sub but didn’t get much help. So back in the day, early internet before SHTF and went all dark and toxic, in the days where the greatest threat was pop up spam…there used to be a fun little game known as puzzle trails. It consisted of HTML pages because wordpress didn’t exist. Or if it did it was mostly still new and useless.
For the unfamiliar, it was a simple website with a collection of pages named as the answers to the previous puzzles. If the puzzle on Level 1 (Begin.html) was What’s Red, Round & Keeps The Doctor Away, and the answer was apple, the way to get to Level two is apple.html, case sensitive. Then you’re on the second puzzle. They were all the rage for awhile.
I found an old SD card not long back that had a puzzle trail I’d made in HTML and thought it would be super cool to update it to something more modern. I’ve not worked exclusively in HTML in 20 years. If not longer. We were making these in the mid to late 90s lol.
In the game sub I asked if there might be a way to create a game app out of an html site or if there might be a way to do it with wordpress and make it a mobile app type thing. I have no clue how to do it though.
So I was thinking is there maybe a way to skip the mobile app and put it on a wordpress site and maybe instead of putting the answer.html in the url bar like the old days, it’d be more like a little text field form submission, type it in, move to the next page. Or even a quiz type option that would work also to let me get it on the site / out of my system, til I can figure out how to make it into a game app like I actually want.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

very simple to do.
in wordpress -> settings -> permalinks -> postname
then when you create the next clue page set the URL to the answer of the previous clue
