Trying to make a website for musicians.

Hello,

I am trying to make a website for musicians where they can find each other by distance to a specific City/State/Zip (USA at the moment). I am a newbie and have learned a lot. What I can not figure out is how to give my potential users the ability to upload/link their own music and videos to their profile page.

I am using buddypress and I’ve looked at/installed/tried/ BP attachments, RTmedia and Mediapress (and countless others) . I find them all to be very old looking. I need something more modern, like an actual media player, not individual mp3 or video links in a gallery. I don’t want users to have to click their way on the profile page to get to the users media, just when they land on the profile page there should be a media player for music and videos already waiting to be played. This is the biggest challenge at the moment. Without this, I don’t have a website

I even thought I would use Soundclouds widget in the single member sidebar but, I have not found a way to give my users the ability to add their Soundcloud links. I just provides my links (my music) on my test users profile pages with no way for them to add theirs. I have been racking my head for weeks on this. Any help would be appreciated.
