Hi,
I have a load of AWS credits so have set up a test version of my site on an EC2 fronted by an AWS load balancer.
I downloaded the site and database from Bluehost and have it all uploaded and reconfigured on the EC2, however I cannot get rid off the welcome page when I hit the domain.
It seems to be something that Bluehost has layered into the code and is getting in the way of the actual site being displayed. Any ideas?

If you’re referring to the image you’ve posted, that’s just a blog post on the front page. Go into settings > reading > change the home page to any other page.
You’re going to save so much money (just not time)!
Make sure you’ve uploaded your database & it’s actually being called.
Try a dedicated migration plugin. Those will go through and update all the references to your old structure, including a bunch that would be easy to miss. I personally like MigrateGuru but All-in-one and Updraft are good options too
I’ve just realized that the database backup that Bluehost provides is ONLY for restoring to Bluehost. It’s useless if you want to take it elsewhere.
Instead, I logged into phpmyadmin and exported the database that way and migrated that to AWS EC2 instead.
I know have the site mostly up and running, still some plugins failing though.
Thanks for the help!
Use WP Migrate or other migration plugin. Manual migrations are so yesterday. 🤪
