Two headers and footers problem

[ad_1]

Alright so I have a problem. I got into web development a couple days ago and it led me here. I have my website hosted on my own server, and I just cant understand one thing. You see, I want to create my homepage, but I’m forced to pick a theme. I pick a theme, there are some twenty twenties pre-installed so I assume these are the vanilla wordpress themes. I create a page, make it a static page and a homepage in the settings and I want to put the things I want in there, and here comes the thing – When I edit a page, I have options to add things. I think these are called blocks, however when I’m done adding my header and footer from the menu you have when editing a page (when you click the plus sign) and I go to the browser to see what is there, I have two headers and two footers. One is mine and one is from (I guess) the theme. I tried a LOT of different things, I’ve been searching for ways to delete the second footer but I cant. I know you can edit the themes and stuff but it only led me to more problems. I just want to add the stuff I want to my page without any unwanted headers or footers or blank spaces. I guess this question is either easy solveable or just dumb, but really thanks for help if someone resorts to answering that question.
