Unable to access Admin page after activating new theme

[ad_1]

I no longer can access the Admin page after I activated a new theme. I just get a white page. I tried renaming the folder of the theme that is causing the issue, but then I get the error – The theme directory “xxxxx” does not exist. I thought WordPress was supposed to revert to the default theme when it can’t find the folder of the one that you activated? Is there some file that stores the currently active theme (because I can’t one anywhere)? How do I force WordPress to start using the default theme again if I can’t access the Admin page?

Thanks.

  1. Log in to cPanel and change the name of the new theme directory you activated. You should then be able to log in.

  2. Also google “Wordpress white screen of death” – that will tell you how to enable debugging so you can the actual error message.
