Have you made any updates recently?
As a first step, let’s check if there is any conflict between WooCommerce and your theme or another plugin you have installed; an outdated or malfunctioning code could be interfering.
To be sure of this, please perform a conflict test by:
– Temporarily switching your theme back to Storefront
– Disabling all plugins except WooCommerce
– Check again if you can now change the product category thumbnail.
If this solves the issue, reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, reactivate your other plugins, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.
Before proceeding, please make sure that you have a backup of your site and database in place, and if something goes wrong, you can restore your site to a functioning state.
