Update SPAM! | WordPress.org

Hi @jasonbear,

You need to condense your updates into a maximum 1 per day.

I agree with you; that should be the maximum of updates for a plugin per day, or even 3 per week.

The number of alerts that I get per day from you is ridiculous. You’re trying to “out-update” certain competitors for publicity.

I assure you that I don’t release for that reason. It seems like you are not on my Discord server. We are continuously discussing the features and issues, I am constantly trying to make everything better and the users expects to try the next release as soon as possible.

Also, I don’t try anything; there aren’t any advantages in pushing lot of updates; it only keeps the number of downloads high, but that doesn’t help in any way.

It seems you don’t know me much, or my work 🙂 That’s ok. I don’t mind competitors, not at all, on the contrary: I love having my little community of users and take care of them as much as I can. I do not want everyone. I target specific use cases and I don’t try to cover everything and appeal to everyone. I much prefer to let the other users try other plugins instead if I don’t have the features they want.

You’re also blatantly abusing the updates system by including an inordinate amount of shameless advertising and “review-begging” in every change log entry.

In the changelog, there are indeed one line about the Discord server and another line about writing a review. I am surprised that you describe it this way, as it’s quite small, and only there in the changelog. I will concatenate those lines.

I promise you I’ll try my best to keep the number of updates minimum. Believe me, I hear you, and I don’t want anybody to be frustrated or annoyed with the way I do things. I am more than happy to listen to feedback and makes things better.

If anyone feels the same way, don’t hesitate to say so, and I am also open to idea on how to improve everything. Cheers 🙂
