UpdraftPlus vs cpanel backup

[ad_1]

I'm wondering the purpose of/need to use UpdraftPlus if I have cpanel backups.

For example, since I don't have the pro version of UpdraftPlus, my backups just live on my WordPress instance. If something happens to my wordpress instance (it gets "nuked"), then the backups are gone too. Whereas with my cpanel backups, I have not only the wordpress site but everything else on my hosting (email, other addon domains, etc.).

So I'm just trying to understand the value of UpdraftPlus without paying for the cloud storage, or if there even is any.

  1. I don’t use UpdraftPlus, but the free version allows you to backup to external sources. You should always have your own backups (in multiple places, preferably) instead of relying entirely on host provided backups.
