Upload images to the files section of the website control panel

[ad_1]

I've got a client who got his 'independent 3rd party buddy' to critique the first draft of his website. What is he referring to when he says 'Upload images to the files section of the website control panel and not directly into the theme template.' Is he maybe referencing how things are done on a different CMS?

The draft website in question is on WordPress and all files were uploaded through the default file manager (mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Hero-1-Compressed.png). Any thoughts on what he is or might be trying to say? I would dearly like to tell his 'buddy' to

  1. lol yeah this is annoying. No clue, I would ask him for clarification and point out you are doing things following best practice for WP

  2. Maybe he means to upload them via the website’s cPanel file manager? That would be wrong.
