Upload images to the media library on the front end.

Is there a way to upload images directly to the media library without logging in to the back end?

This is for product photos in woocommerce. The form plugins I have tried don’t upload to the media folder but to another folder so I can’t add them as product photos.

Someone else is editing the product photos and just wants to upload them as simply as possible without needing to login.

  1. I think it will be a lot less hassle to just have the person log in.

Seems like a weird thing for the editor to try and avoid.

Or just have them edit/deliver them to you in some other way (Dropbox, etc), and then upload them to the media library yourself.

  2. If you do that(do not do that), then anyone or any bot can just come along and start spamming files into your media library. There’s many good reasons authentication exists.

A better solution would be to fire the inept moron that thinks logging in to do product images is too hard, then train a monkey to login and do product photos for you, because it’s really that easy.

that doesn’t sound like something you would want someone to be able to do.

  4. Now that you’ve been torn a new one. If you’re comfortable, have your guy/girl upload them to a server and use a spreadsheet (csv) to assign them to your products “product image” seeing as how you’ll have to manually assign them in woocommerce after all. Use a ledger of products and point the “product image” to the url where it’s uploaded. It will bring those images into the media library automatically this way.
