Urgent Help Needed: Will My Site Vanish from Google If I Switch SEO Plugins?

[ad_1]

Hi,

I’m in the process of switching from Yoast SEO to All in One SEO. My question is as follows:

Do I need to manually upload the new sitemap generated by All in One SEO to Google Search Console? I’m concerned about potentially losing traffic during this transition.

Do you have any additional advice that might be helpful during this switch?

Thank you.

  1. A sitemap is not a requirement for the site to be indexed or scanned by Google but it can help Google find content that it may not easily find on the website.

The old sitemap URL will redirect to the new URL and Google will find the new URL from the robots.txt file made by AIOS. I’d still check the sitemaps tab in SC though on the change over.

  2. If you’re just doing a one for one swap toast for seo, wouldn’t expect the current site map to change much. You can wait for Google to recrawl, or ask Google to recrawl the new sitemap url for sure – but I find the old ping method still to be the most effective.

It will not be an option in the future, but still works now: replace your site map xml link in the following url (/sitemap.xml when using all in one seo) https://www.google.com/ping?sitemap=FULL_URL_OF_SITEMAP

The ping method is the fastest way to get recrawled
